Our client, an established and successful supplier of fire rated and specialist glass and glazing products, is currently recruiting for an Assistant Depot Manager in Edinburgh. Supporting the Manager in the day-to-day operations, planning and coordination of all transport operations and customer deliveries. The core function of the role is to manage and coordinate the transport fleet and ensure that goods reach their destinations safely, on time and in the most cost effective way.
You will be the first point of contact for all customer queries, keeping them up to date with regards to their deliveries and delivery schedules. You will also resolve any complaints effectively and communicate time scales to all customers. Applicants will manage delivery schedules to ensure company targets are met as well as being responsible for arranging correct checks of all deliver vehicles ensuring they are maintained and serviced regularly.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have knowledge of the glazing industry in order to be able to understand customer requirements. You must also have a good understanding of transport regulations and logistics.
