A major innovator providing aluminium solutions for Curtain Walling, Façades, Doors and Windows are currently recruiting for a Product Engineer/Designer to be based in Gloucestershire.
Applicants will be required to provide AutoCAD drawings for projects and products, produce project quotations for standard and bespoke project solutions using in-house software and manage all aspects of projects, material schedules, and product availability against delivery requirements.
You will produce and issue manufacturing instructions, check orders and enquiries against quotations, performance requirements whilst providing second level technical support to the product support team. You will carry out wind loading and thermal calculations when required, keep files and records all according to SBS Ltd ISO9000 procedures and good practice. Applicants will be involved in producing manual pages and technical bulletins when required as well as produce training materials and deliver training for in house staff and customers. Site visits, producing detailed reports and to organise and supervise product manufacture for in house and external testing will also be a requirement for the role.
Candidates applying for this role must have a Fenestration Systems / Engineering background with extensive, proven experience. A broad expertise in curtain walling, windows and doors including technical principles and mechanics. Candidates must be capable of reviewing and commenting on drawings, identifying potential risks and proposing best practice details.
Detailed knowledge of Building Regulations, industry relevant British Standards, EN Standards and Building Control requirements are essential. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate strong Commercial awareness and Cost Control ability with a proven track record in the area of façade development.
It is essential to be proficient in 2D AutoCAD along with full literacy in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). AutoCAD 3D is highly desirable but not essential.
