A CV is by its very name a product of the past; it’s time to be innovative and modernise…..
Mat Gibson of Chase Taylor Recruitment tells us why the company has launched its ‘One Page Me’ personal statement to support people in the industry who after 20 years of working don’t have a CV but still want the opportunity to enhance their career.
“I speak to a lot of people every day in the window and door industry and what comes out time and time again is that people who have been working for 20 years simply don’t have a CV; find the prospect of writing one tiresome; and don’t believe that it could possibly represent accurately what that have achieved in any case”.
“Fine, I totally agree. The CV by its very name is a dated document. It becomes less significant the more experienced you become. I wholly accept that if you have worked at a company for 10 years a CV is unlikely to truly do justice to your achievements, and if you are 50 years old does it really matter how many O-levels you have got?”
“That’s why we have launched our brand new ‘One Page Me’ registration process, a simple, verbal process where you can tell us all about what you are doing, what you have achieved, and what sort of position you would like to work in in the future. Innovation is not all about products; modern ways of working and operational efficiency are as important in recruitment as they are in any other sector of our industry”.
We believe our new ‘One Page Me’ will open doors up to people who don’t have a CV but who want a new start in an industry which still offers excellent rewards to the right people.
“We know that there are lots of highly skilled and very dedicated people in our industry who don’t take the opportunity to develop and progress their careers simply because the time and effort it takes to write a CV deters them from making a start. We believe our new way of working will open those doors up and give everybody the chance to access new opportunities in an industry that continues to offer excellent rewards for the right people”.
“We are delighted to have launched this new initiative and believe it shows again why Chase Taylor Recruitment is recognised as being a forward thinking company within the sector. It supports our key goal of being able to give clients the best candidates to choose from, and we know that capturing information in this new and innovative way will mean we are able to support both candidates and clients even more in the future”.
“The ‘One Page Me’ will help us to get to the real skills, personality, and achievements of our candidates, and it will help the large number of people out there who don’t have a CV to realise that there is a way for them to start the process of taking their career forward”.
