Commercial Head of Operations

Chase Taylor Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading commercial glazing specialist for an experienced Commercial Head of Operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused operations leader to join a successful and growing business, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the commercial operations function.

Reporting into senior leadership, you will oversee project delivery, manage operational teams, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in developing new business opportunities and supporting the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial operations team across multiple projects.
• Oversee projects from contract award through to completion.
• Manage and support Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Surveyors, and Installation teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Drive operational performance, efficiency, and profitability.Seek out new business opportunities to support the continued growth of the business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
• Conduct sales surveys for refurbishment and commercial glazing projects, identifying customer requirements and opportunities.
• Work closely with estimating, commercial, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and design teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Collaborate with the marketing department to support business development initiatives and growth strategies.
• Ensure the successful conversion of quotations into secured orders through effective client engagement and follow-up.
• Monitor project performance, operational budgets, and resource planning.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and profitability.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a senior operations management, contracts management, or business development role within the commercial glazing, façade, curtain walling, aluminium windows and doors, or wider construction industry.
• A proven track record of delivering commercial projects while driving business growth.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Experience building long-term relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.
