Chase Taylor Recruitment are working on behalf of a leading and rapidly growing UK garage door installation business to recruit an experienced Quality & Standards Manager.
This is a key role within the Operations team, responsible for ensuring installation standards remain consistently high across a growing nationwide field engineering network.
You will work closely with Regional Field Managers, Technical teams and Field Engineers to develop training, coaching and auditing frameworks that ensure engineers have the skills, knowledge and support required to deliver industry-leading installations and exceptional customer experiences.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality, Training, Standards or Field Operations professional looking to take ownership of quality and development across a growing national installation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain training materials to support current and future field requirements, including product, procedural and process changes.
- Work closely with the Technical Manager on new product developments and establish installation standards that minimise product faults.
- Develop best-practice approaches to field training, using new technology and engaging training methods.
- Maintain the company’s training and skills matrix, identifying areas where upskilling or refresher training is required.
- Ensure health and safety standards are clearly communicated and embedded from day one of the training programme.
- Own and continuously improve the quality audit framework, ensuring quality concerns are identified and appropriate corrective action is taken.
- Produce clear and actionable management information (MI) to demonstrate quality performance across regions and individual engineers.
- Work alongside Technical Support Coaches and Desktop Auditors to ensure resources are targeted effectively.
- Identify training and performance issues and provide appropriate coaching and support.
- Further develop the Trainee Installer programme to create a strong pipeline of high-performing installation engineers.
- Work collaboratively with regional management to continually improve installation quality, standards and customer satisfaction.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a field engineering, installation, training, quality or standards environment and will be confident supporting teams across multiple locations.
You will be a strong communicator with the ability to coach, develop and influence engineers and management teams while maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role supporting field engineering or installation teams.
- Strong understanding of best practice in field-based training and communication.
- Experience developing or managing training programmes and skills matrices.
- Experience with quality auditing, performance monitoring and corrective actions.
- Strong IT skills with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Flexible and confident working within a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Determined, resilient and able to work effectively under pressure.Strong coaching and influencing skills.
