We are seeking an experienced Electrical / Mechanical Site Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established window and door manufacturing business within the glazing and fenestration sector. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy production facility, ensuring machinery, equipment, and site services remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
The role will involve planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical and mechanical systems, including CNC machinery, fabrication equipment, conveyors, compressors, and general plant machinery commonly used in window and door manufacturing. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance of manufacturing machinery and plant
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Supporting production teams to reduce downtime
- Ensuring health & safety and compliance standards are met
- Assisting with installations, upgrades, and process improvements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications (or time-served experience)
- Experience with machinery used in window, door, or glazing manufacturing preferred
- Strong fault-finding skills and a proactive approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- PLC fault-finding experience
- Knowledge of CNC machinery
- Experience within the glazing, fenestration, or construction manufacturing sector
