Estimator

We’re looking for an Estimator to join a leading a manufacturer of plastic building products used within the housing and construction market. 

The Role

As Product Estimator, you’ll be at the heart of the sales success — producing accurate, competitive cost estimates and quotations that win business and protect margin. You’ll combine technical product knowledge with strong analytical skills to deliver schedules customers can trust.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations from drawings, specifications and project briefs
• Analysing product schedules to ensure accuracy and commercial viability
• Working closely with Sales to gather technical and cost information
• Reviewing enquiries and recommending alternative product solutions where appropriate
• Ensuring all estimates meet company standards and commercial policies
• Providing clear technical support to colleagues and customers (phone, email and written responses)
• Contributing to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes
• Supporting the development of value-added services to strengthen our market position

What We’re Looking For

• Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Organised, methodical and able to manage multiple deadlines
• Confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel
• Willingness to develop technical knowledge of building products and systems

Desirable

• Experience in manufacturing, construction or building products
• Understanding of CAD drawings or technical schematics
• Qualification in engineering or construction
