Chase Taylor Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established interior doors and architectural joinery manufacturer in Cheshire who are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.

This is a fully office-based position within a busy manufacturing environment, responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive quotations for interior doors, fire doors, and bespoke joinery projects. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, technical, and production teams to ensure all estimates are precise, cost-effective, and aligned with manufacturing capability.

The Role

As Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed costings and quotations from customer enquiries, drawings, and technical specifications. You will assess materials, labour, production methods, and lead times to ensure accurate pricing across a range of interior door and joinery solutions.

You will play a key role in the commercial function of the business, ensuring all quotations are delivered promptly and support profitable project conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for interior doors, fire doors, and joinery products
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
• Calculate material, labour, and manufacturing costs
• Produce quotations within agreed timeframes
• Liaise with sales, technical, and production teams to clarify project details
• Assess fire door compliance and specification requirements
• Maintain and update pricing databases and cost structures
• Support value engineering and cost reduction initiatives
• Ensure all estimates are commercially viable and production-feasible
• Respond to internal and external queries regarding pricing and quotations
• Assist with tender submissions and larger project pricing when required

Candidate Requirements

• Previous estimating experience within interior doors, fire doors, or joinery manufacturing (essential)
• Strong understanding of timber manufacturing and architectural joinery processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience pricing fire doors and bespoke joinery projects
• Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Competent with Excel or estimating systems (desirable)
