Mat Gibson, the Managing Director here at Chase Taylor, is once again stepping up to the challenge - this time by taking on the 15km Tough Mudder in 2025 to raise vital funds for Harry’s Pals, the PiGs charity of the year for 2025 & 2026.
Mat will face one of the most technically difficult Tough Mudder events on the calendar. Set against the scenic backdrop of Belvoir Castle, this year’s course will feature killer hills, unforgiving muddy terrain, and a series of up-scaled obstacles - complete with unexpected tweaks and surprises throughout the route.
“If it's anything like last year – it will live up to its name of ‘Tough’ Mudder!” said Mat. “It was incredibly tough, but I'm back for even more. This time, I’ve increased the distance to 15km and I’m doing it to raise much-needed awareness and funding for a small charity close to the glazing industry's heart: Harry’s Pals.”
Harry’s Pals provides essential emotional support to parents across the country who have received the devastating news that their child is severely ill or disabled. This kind of support is often unavailable elsewhere and includes tailored counselling and therapy sessions to help families cope with the emotional strain.
To prepare, Mat is stepping up his training regime, focusing on endurance running, strength building, and cold water immersion to sharpen both his physical and mental resilience.
When asked what he’s most looking forward to this time around, Mat said: “Honestly? Just crossing that finish line again, plus knowing it's all for an amazing cause.”
The team at Chase Taylor are fully behind him and incredibly proud of his dedication. In last year’s 10-mile event, Mat raised more than £1,100, which they are hoping will be beaten this year.
Mat added: “I would like to thank everyone in advance for their encouragement and donations. Every contribution helps Harry’s Pals continue their invaluable support - reminding us that no parent should face life-changing news alone.”
